About me
I'm Siekwie (Jannik Wiest), a developer in Germany who builds tools, apps and systems that have to actually run.
I've been coding since I was 14, mostly for myself, friends, or out of pure curiosity. Games show up as sketches sometimes, but the work I stand behind is usually on the application side: simulators, desktop apps, small web services and developer tools.
Day to day that means C++ and Odin for native tools, Lua with LÖVE for small desktop apps, and TypeScript for the web apps and the Electron and Tauri shells. I like systems you can poke: a circuit that talks Modbus, a screen stream you open from any browser on the network, a kanban board that coding agents update over HTTP.
I stream sometimes. I write when something was useful or funny enough to survive contact with a README.
I keep a messy DEV folder full of unfinished windows, and those stay off this site on purpose.
What WiestLab is
WiestLab is my personal workshop and the name on my server. It holds this site, the notes, and the three apps I run as products: RepoEasy, FriendsShare and MarkItDown, each on its own subdomain of wiest-lab.eu. The rest of my work is on the projects page and on GitHub.
